I Was a Stranger

1
I was a stranger and lost in the night,
Foot sore and weary, I longed for the light;
Jesus found me wand'ring in dark paths of sin.
Tho' I was a stranger, He took me in.
I was a stranger to love so divine,
But now I am singing for Jesus who's mine;
No more shall I wander in dark paths of sin;
When I was a stranger, He took me in.
2
Far is the path of life's journey I walk,
Too much to bear are the burdens of life;
Reaching my wit's end I fell to the ground,
When I fell over He came to save me.
I was a stranger to love so divine,
But now I am singing for Jesus who's mine;
No more shall I wander in dark paths of sin;
When I was a stranger, He took me in.
