Pilgrim's Song

1
My eyes they gaze afar to Zion's land,
'tis there where God my Father abides;
One day my God and I'll walk hand in hand,
this dream I see each night;
O'er perilous, threat'ning seaways,
though beaten, afflicted, and torn,
The Lord will spread His gospel and saving grace
to ev'ry distant shore.
2
And when my final days on earth are done,
I'll rest within His garden of peace;
He sees and hears each pain and grief I'll know,
through faith in Him I'm free;
O'er deserts and barren wastelands,
though tired and weary and worn,
The Lord will keep me safe in His loving hands
until He leads me home.
